2019 will be Beaver Hill Plantation’s eighth season as a Maine Maple Producer. This year we have grown out operation again, added more taps, and also added a brand new wood-fired evaporator and we are looking forward to showing it off.
Bob’s Sugarhouse is a family-owned business operated by Bob and Barb Moore at 252 East Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. Bob’s interest in sugaring began at the age of 10 as he was “allowed” to help a neighbor carry his pails of sap for boiling. Bob was given leftover sap at the end of the season and boiled it down in his Mom’s large cake pan. His interest grew from then to his now 6000 taps where he boils down in a 5×14 oil-fired Revolution Evaporator with Steam-Away and RO.
Bob’s Sugarhouse has operated a retail shop at same location since 1983 and has a secure online ordering site at mainemaplesyrup.com where they do business all over the world. They have built up a reputation throughout Maine and New England with their participation in the Maine Building at the Big E and Fryeburg Fair for 12 years as well as many co-ops throughout the Maine Coast . Bob’s is widely known for their elegant glass containers including custom laser engraving and a very large array of maple bi-products. The retail shop is open year round and they are available on the web 24/7. Bob is always available via e-mail –[email protected] –and be sure to follow Bob’s Sugarhouse latest updates and events through their Facebook page as they try to stay up to date through this technology.
