We are a small, family run farm located in the Maine Highlands. We operate with the same old time value and work ethics that were common in the old days. We produce High Quality pure maple syrup, candy, cream, and sugar in our wood fired evaporator that burns scrap wood from a local mill. This reduces our carbon footprint by utilizing scrap that would normally end up in the local landfill. Our commitment to Quality is the core of our farm and it shows in every part of our operation. We welcome you to come and visit and see for yourself.
Maine Maple Products, Inc. originated in Farmington, Maine under the guidance of founder Raymond Titcomb. The business operated out of that area from 1976 to 1997. In 1993 the business was sold to life-long syrup-makers Marc and Helene Lariviere. A new facility was constructed in Madison in 1997, and the business moved into its current location.
Today, the Lariviere’s son, Fabien, owns and operates the business. His brothers, Pierre and Martin, are the primary bulk syrup suppliers for Maine Maple. They manage a sugarbush in Somerset County Maine with nearly 80,000 trees being tapped.
At the Madison facility, Maine Maple packages and distributes maple syrup primarily for the wholesale markets. Maple products, jams & jellies, and honey complement our product line. Retail purchases are also encouraged through our website and at our store front located at the Madison facility. Hours are maintained in Madison from 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday year-round.
We hope to put a smile on your face as you enjoy a sample of our sweet maple syrup on ice cream. Visit, relax and take in the sights and smells of syrup being made on our home made wood fired evaporator and possibly say hello to Franklin the Maple Hound, as he makes several visits to our parking area throughout the day. Open Sunday March 25th 9-4pm.
Maple Moon Farm includes a small commercial maple syrup operation, the heart of which is a traditional New England-style post-and-beam sugarhouse that contains a 2’x6′ wood fired evaporator, an early 1900s wood cook stove for warmth and pancake making, an impressive collection of antique sugaring tools and equipment, and a retail space. Sap is collected in old-fashioned buckets, as well as via a newly-installed vacuum tubing system.
We also have highbush blueberries, fruit trees, honey bees, wildflower plots, several miles of hiking trails, and free range chickens. We have a space available for Airbnb rental, and host small wedding and other events.
