The Maple Moose was started in 2007 by CJ and Jodi King. They started with 10 trees, buckets, a wood stove and a “How To” book. They currently have 2300 taps, use a underground vacuum system, reverse osmosis, and a state-of-the-art Leader rear fired evaporator. They make all of their own confections including maple cotton candy, sugar, moose pops, hard candy, coated peanuts, Maple Needhams, and jelly from their maple syrup. They utilize both retail and wholesale for all products as well as online sales. In 2016 they add a birch syrup line as an alternative sweetener.
Thurston And Peters Sugarhouse, LLC, (TAPS) is a destination for all seasons! Two retired educators with a story to tell about their land and the process of making maple syrup. Syrup is made the “new” fashioned way (tubing, vacuum, reverse osmosis and an oil fired evaporator) with “old” fashioned hospitality! During the sugaring season, we welcome visitors every weekend in March. In the summer, TAPS is open for frozen treats! Maple soft serve is a favorite. Tours and samples anytime! You will make our day by visiting!
